THE CPCAB TRAINING ROUTE

'

Our CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills is the initial stage in your training path as a qualified counsellor.

Counselling, as a profession is overseen by the Professional Standards Authority in the UK, which ensures that regulatory organisations involving health professionals have a set of standards for ethical and safe practice, and have Accredited UK Registers of qualified counsellors, the largest of which is managed by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

The Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK-L2) is the initial stage on the journey to a recognised, professional qualification in counselling at Level 4 (CPCAB's TC-L4 qualification), which can, as part of the course, build in an assessment by BACP, which is the largest such organisation in the UK, affording candidates immediate acceptance as full BACP members upon completion of your training.

It should be noted that not all CPCAB-recognised centres support a BACP-approved qualification, so please do check with your chosen Level 4 provider first. Whoever you choose as your provider, it's wise to you choice a counselling training that is recognised by an organisation listed by UK's Professional Standards Authority. CPCAB's BACP-approved Level 4 training meets the entry requirements for several of these register-holding bodies.

You can find a list of organisations in counselling with Accredited Registers by visiting the UK's Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care website, and an index of L4 training providers in your locality on CPCAB's Centre Finder page.
